3DGS scanning as a service, how it works
3D Gaussian splatting, 3DGS, has moved from academic novelty to a tool used in marketing, sales and documentation. For many companies the question is no longer "what is it?", but "how do we get it done without building our own team?".
How the service works
When you buy 3DGS scanning as a service, you receive a finished, photorealistic model without handling cameras, computation or web publishing yourself. The process usually looks like this:
- Scoping: we agree what should be captured, the area involved, the accuracy required and what you want to use the model for.
- Capture: we photograph the environment on site. Unlike traditional 360 tours, thousands of images are taken from many angles so the model can be explored freely.
- Processing: the images are converted into millions of gaussians, small soft colour blobs, that together form a photorealistic scene.
- Measurement and quality control: the model is calibrated against control measurements so distances, areas and heights match reality.
- Delivery: you receive a link that opens directly in the browser, with no app required. The same link can be embedded on your site, in a listing or in a mailout.
When is 3DGS as a service the right fit?
The technology is strongest when visual impression matters. Agents let buyers walk through a home before booking. Hotels and museums show a room before the guest books. Construction and property teams document what a place actually looks like before, during and after a project. Infrastructure owners and contractors inspect bridges, tunnels and facilities remotely – without closing traffic.
Why buy the service instead of doing it in-house?
It is easy to experiment with 3DGS using open-source tools and a regular camera. Making it work in a real business context is a different challenge. It is not just a question of equipment – which is also expensive – but of understanding the technology well enough to guarantee quality, accuracy, and a delivery that is ready to use. The software is complex, and in many cases international collaboration is needed to get everything working as it should. Training technicians takes time and costs money. With TR3DE, you get a finished solution that holds up for clients, websites, and sales workflows – without having to build that competence in-house.
TR3DE offers 3DGS scanning as a service
We capture in Sweden and internationally, adapt the capture to the site and deliver a measurable, photorealistic model ready to use. Delivery is normally within 1 to 3 working days of the scan.
